In the splendid setting of Palazzo Clerici in Milan, the first meeting of the Italy-Thailand Business Forum took place today. The Forum was set up at the initiative of the Italian Embassy in Bangkok and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n
The Forum was co-chaired by Italcementi, for Italy, and, for Thailand, the Central Group, a distribution giant that recently bought La Rinascente. It is a pro-active instrument designed to stimulate bilateral relations and strengthen economic and commercial collaboration.<\/p>\n
The event attracted a high level Thai delegation, as witnessed by the number of companies taking part, and representing annual sales of around 120 billion dollars. Participating companies were from a wide range of sectors (automotive, retail, aerospace\/airlines, oil and gas, infrastructure, petro-chemical, machinery, agri-food, banking\/insurance, cement, rubber, renewable energy, hospitality and textiles).<\/p>\n
