A meeting of the 14th Italy-Israel mixed commission met recently in Milan, at EXPO 2015, to assess and approve 16 co-financed projects with the themes, this year, of water-treatment, pharmacogenomics and cyber security. The commission meets annually under a Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Agreement in force between Italy and Israel since 2002.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16 joint research projects by enterprises, universities and research centres in Italy and Israel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the research tracks, \u201cnew technologies for land and water treatment\u201d in the agro-food sector, reflects the \u201cfeeding the planet\u201d theme of the Universal Exposition in Milan. The Commission also approved a new \u201cRita Levi Montalcini\u201d award to encourage mobility by distinguished scientists between leading Italian and Israeli universities and academic research centres.
