On 7 and 8 June the world will be Bavaria\u2019s guest, with the heads of state and government of the G7 countries meeting at Schloss Elmau to tackle key global themes. The Free State of Bavaria is welcoming its guests with a special initiative: each day from Saturday 30 May to Friday 5 June the famous castle will be illuminated in the colours of the flag of one of the G7 member countries. In Bavaria, hospitality comes first and foremost, as the \u201cWelcome dahoam\u201d (Welcome Home) projected on the fa\u00e7ade to mark the G7 summit shows. Yesterday evening, 2 June (Italian National Day) the entire fa\u00e7ade of the castle was dedicated to Italy. For 30 minutes, the white, red and green of the Italian flag decorated the fairy-tale residence built for King Ludwig II.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Bavaria\u2019s Minister of State, Dr. Marcel Huber, said that \u201cWe are delighted to welcome Prime Minister Renzi to Bavaria. We too are convinced that the best and only way to face the future is by collaborating with our international partners. By projecting the national flags onto one of the most famous symbols of the Bavarian state, our aim is to emphasise that the heads of state and government of the G7 countries are most welcome here\u201d. The Bavarian finance minister, Dr. Markus S\u00f6der, who is in responsible for the Bavarian Administration of State-owned Palaces, is very pleased with the initiative, declaring that \u201cNeuschwanstein is the world\u2019s most famous castle, so it\u2019s perfect for the G7\u201d.<\/p>\n
