<\/p>\nOn 6 July 2020, at the age of 91, Maestro\u00a0Ennio Morricone\u00a0sadly passed away. He was an extraordinarily talented composer and arranger, beloved by all for his rare ability to reach and move people with very different musical tastes.<\/p>\n
The Farnesina has decided to honour his memory by producing a\u00a0limited edition box set, available to Embassies, Permanent Representations and Italian Cultural Institutes around the world.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0four songs, recorded on CD and DVD (\u2018Voci dal silenzio\u2019, \u2018Varianti su un segnale di polizia\u2019, \u2018Infinite visioni\u2019 and \u2018Sicilo e altri frammenti\u2019) come from the\u00a0repertoire of \u2018absolute music\u2019\u00a0composed in the last twenty years of the Maestro\u2019s life: experiments in\u00a0sound sculptures\u00a0that include real-life sounds \u2013 cans, pots, typewriters or industrial machines \u2013 but also\u00a0melodic and rhythmic references\u00a0from composers who came before him.<\/p>\n

The box set includes a 32-page booklet in Italian and English and is accompanied by introductory texts by Minister Luigi Di Maio and the President-Superintendent of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia,\u00a0Michele dall\u2019Ongaro. The edition is accompanied by a critical apparatus by the composer and writer\u00a0Alessandro De Rosa, along with biographical notes by Morricone and the performers.<\/p>\n

The performance of the concert \u2013 conducted by Maestros\u00a0Piero Monti\u00a0and\u00a0Andrea Morricone, featuring soprano\u00a0Sara Fiorentini\u00a0and actor\u00a0Mariano Rigillo\u00a0\u2013 was entrusted to the musicians of the\u00a0Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia<\/a>, where Ennio Morricone directed both the orchestra and the choir for years, forging an unbreakable and lasting bond of affection with them.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n![\"morricone](\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/mae\/resource\/img\/2021\/07\/morricone_4.jpg\")
