This was the comment of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, on developments on the nuclear negotiations, which resumed in Lausanne on 26 March. This evening, the High Representative, Mogherini, and Minister Zarif gave a joint statement on the result. \u201cItaly has always encouraged every effort to achieve an outcome to these negotiations that would guarantee the solely peaceful nature of Iran\u2019s nuclear programme. We appreciate the commitment of all concerned, the determination of the United States and Iran, and especially the role played by the High Representative, Federica Mogherini.
