The Farnesina hosts the presentation of the Day titled \u201cGiornata del Contemporaneo – Italian Contemporary Art\u201d, an event held annually to celebrate and disseminate contemporary art, now at its 14th edition in Italy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The event will open with remarks by Vincenzo De Luca, the MAECI\u2019s Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, followed by contributions by Federica Galloni (MIBAC), Gianfranco Maraniello, President of AMACI, Marcello Maloberti, designer of the image of the GDC 2018 and Alessandro Masi, Secretary General of the Dante Alighieri Society.<\/p>\n
For the first time this year, the Contemporary Art Day is also promoted abroad through the network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) as the 1st International Festival of the \u201cGiornata del Contemporaneo \u2013 Italian Contemporary Art\u201d:\u00a0\u00a0nearly 80 offices of Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes joined the initiative, organising more than 80 events, debates, presentations and exhibitions on the theme of contemporary art culture, with the aim of not only highlighting artists and their works but also the producers, curators, stand fitters, museum directors, critics, art magazines and books.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This promotion of Italian contemporary art and culture abroad aims to leverage Italy\u2019s whole art production \u2018system\u2019. Therefore, not only artists and their works but also producers, curators, stand fitters, museum directors, critics, art magazines and books, for a total of 100 testimonials around the world.<\/p>\n
Today, the Farnesina collection is made up of more than 430 artworks and over 200 artists, for an insured market value exceeding 20 million euros.
