{"id":58150,"date":"2021-09-21T12:20:40","date_gmt":"2021-09-21T10:20:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2021\/09\/teheran-un-video-racconta-la-capitale-dell-iran-negli-anni-50-2\/"},"modified":"2021-09-21T12:20:40","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T10:20:40","slug":"teheran-un-video-racconta-la-capitale-dell-iran-negli-anni-50-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/retediplomatica\/2021\/09\/teheran-un-video-racconta-la-capitale-dell-iran-negli-anni-50-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Tehran: a video describing the capital of Iran in the 1950s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Produced by the Italian Embassy in Iran and the ICE Office in Tehran in collaboration with the historic Milanese magazine <i>Domus <\/i>and presented yesterday at the Ambassador\u2019s Residence, Ambassador Giuseppe Perrone introduced Episode 9 of the 10-part video series &#8220;Domus Eyes on Iran&#8221;, describing the development of 1950s modern architecture in Tehran in a number of prestigious buildings by the architect Hushang Seyhoun: the Canada Dry factory, the Am\u00e9n\u00e9h orphanage, and three residential villas in the north of the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/mae\/resource\/img\/2021\/09\/persian_2.jpg\" alt=\"persian 2\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" width=\"750\" height=\"563\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The video revisited and explored &#8220;Persian Landscape&#8221;, a 1958 article in <i>Domus<\/i> magazine that described the period when Tehran&#8217;s architectural development was fully in line with the avant-garde currents of world architecture and drew inspiration from great masters like Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, and Gio Ponti, who was the architect of Villa Namazee in Tehran, a jewel of modern architecture that will be the subject of the final episode, scheduled for October. In his introductory speech Ambassador Perrone emphasised that the intention of the series is to bring back to life stories of great interest and socio-cultural significance, such as the 1958 <i>Domus<\/i> article, and make them available to the contemporary viewer. As part of the event, drawings of 1950s Teheran by the artist Khosrow Khorshidi were exhibited in the garden of the Residence.
