The documentary film “Radiography of a Family”, by award-winning Italian-trained Iranian director Firouzeh Khosrovani, was previewed at the Italian Ambassador’s residence in Tehran, where some scenes were shot. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The movie – an Iranian, Norwegian, and Swiss co-production, created with the support of the Italian Embassy – revisits the main events that Iran went through in the transition from the Pahlavi Kingdom to the Islamic Republic. It is the autobiographical story of the director’s family, divided between her father’s secular and progressive education obtained in Switzerland and the traditional Islamic values of her mother, who grew up in Tehran.<\/p>\n

The projection of the work made up of a combination of original footage and period photographs, together with scenes shot in one of the buildings of the Italian Residence complex, the “andaruni”, an architectural jewel of the Qajara era, was attended by the director, producer, and artistic director of the movie.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In his introductory remarks, Ambassador Giuseppe Perrone expressed his appreciation for the movie’s artistic value. He underlined its universal value in representing the collective history of a people, its struggles, and internal contrasts through the personal story of a family in which profoundly different sensibilities coexisted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The movie will be screened at a series of European film festivals and events in the coming months, including on 28 September in Florence during the “Middle East Now Festival”.<\/p>\n
