The Italian Institute of Culture in Sydney, in partnership with the Italian Institute of Culture in Melbourne, is launching a series of online conferences by Costantino D\u2019Orazio, one of Italy’s most renowned art critics. Thanks to Prof. D’Orazio’s competence and great communication skills, the three conferences – from Caravaggio to Balla – will allow participants to appreciate these great masters from a new perspective.<\/p>\n

Born in Rome, in 1974, D\u2019Orazio is an art critic and essayist. He is also a curator at the MACRO Contemporary Arts Museum in Rome and teaches in the Master’s degree programme for curators at LUISS and LINK Campus Universities. He has also contributed a number of TV and radio features on the history of Italian art, such as AR Frammenti d’Arte on RaiNews 24 and Bella davvero on Radio 2, also collaborating with Geo&Geo on Rai 3. He is the author of Caravaggio segreto (Sperling & Kupfer 2013), Leonardo segreto (Sperling & Kupfer 2014), Michelangelo. Io sono fuoco. Autobiografia di un genio (Sperling & Kupfer 2016), Ma liberaci dal male (Sperling & Kupfer, 2017), Mercanti di bellezza (Rai Eri, 2017) and Leonardo svelato (Sperling & Kupfer, 2019).<\/p>\n

The three conferences will be held from 28 May to 6 August: the first will be held online via Zoom tomorrow at 18.30 (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on Caravaggio: exploring the truth and legend behind a revolutionary painter.<\/p>\n
