The Italian Embassy in Prague hosted the presentation of the third edition of \u201cNave ITALIA\u201d for the Czech Republic, the charitable initiative promoted by the Italian Foundation \u201cTender To Nave ITALIA\u201d, the Italian Navy and the Italian Yacht Club, with the aim of offering a special experience and adventure to disadvantaged young people \u2013 both socially and affectively \u2013 to enable them to look at life with renewed stimulus and confidence, boosting their self-esteem and independence of action.<\/p>\n
At the initiative of the Italian Embassy, in conjunction with the Czech \u201cChance4Children\u201d association, and through the generous sponsorship of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, on 27 June, 15 Czech children who overcame oncological diseases or other forms of serious disadvantages will fly from Prague to Rome where they will be accompanied on a tour of the Capital by five volunteers to visit the Vatican Museums, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. On 30 June they will travel by ferry from Civitavecchia to Olbia, and then, on 2 July, they will board Nave ITALIA, the largest brigantine in the world, for a 5-day cruise around the Mediterranean while being entertained onboard by animators in creative laboratories and nautical activities. On their return, they will be greeted at the Olbia Hospital by the patients in the children\u2019s ward, with whom they will share their sailing experiences.<\/p>\n
Before the numerous guests at the presentation held at the Prague Embassy, who included Health Minister Adam Vojtech, Ambassador Francesco Saverio Nisio outlined the reasons why he personally sponsored the project: \u201cNave ITALIA is commendable from numerous perspectives. It builds a bridge between Countries in the name of solidarity, promotes the culture of the sea as an instrument of self-development, social inclusion and therapy. But, above all, it places children at the centre of focus, along with their problems with disease and their re-inclusion in a growth process that might be healthy and full of new affective and intellectual stimuli.
