More than 150 Austrian entrepreneurs in the agri-food and catering sector participated in ‘Gourmet Sueditalien’, a workshop organised by the ICE Agency in Vienna in partnership with the Italian Embassy to support and bolster the presence of companies from the south of Italy on the Austrian market.<\/p>\n
The workshop was held at Metternich Palace and forms part of the South Export Plan, a multi-year promotion and training programme financed with European funds and targeted on production and business activities in the South of Italy in order to convert \u201cpotential exporting\u201d companies in \u201chabitually exporting\u201d companies, thus increasing the portion of national exports ascribable to the Regions of the South Italy. Thus, 37 companies from Campania, Calabria, Basilicata, Sicily, Sardinia, Apulia and Abruzzo, were able to promote their products in Austria and establish contacts for possible business cooperation and trade relations.<\/p>\n
The agri-food sector constitutes one of the drivers of Austria\u2019s economy and sees Italy as its second-largest trade partner, both as an importing and exporting Country, after Germany.
