At the initiative of the Italian Embassy in Nicosia, on the eve of International Women\u2019s Day, \u2018Woman\u2019s Name\u2019 (\u2018Nome di Donna\u2019) by Marco Tullio Giordana was presented at the \u201cWomen\u2019s Film Days \u2013 Through a Woman\u2019s Lens: A Year in Film\u201d. The film festival was developed and promoted by the United Nations Country Team in Cyprus to present a series of stories of women in different countries around the world at the Goethe Institute in Nicosia with a view to opening a dialogue on an ample range of gender-related problems.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In \u2018Woman\u2019s Name\u2019 (\u2018Nome di Donna\u2019), film director and screenwriter Marco Tullio Giordana tackles the theme of abuse of power in the workplace, where the character in the film is exposed to sexual harassment. The film was accompanied by a message from the director to the audience and by a comment from the Italian Ambassador Andrea Cavallari. With this event, the Italian Embassy in Nicosia aims to raise awareness, boost awareness-raising efforts and share knowledge on gender-related issues. Italy is staunchly committed to promoting women\u2019s rights and to combating any form of violence against women, female genital mutilations, forced child marriage and preventing sexual abuse in situations of conflict and emergency.
