The event, which was promoted jointly by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Consulate General, featured a rich repertoire including Giovanni Paisiello, Alessandro Rolla and the Ouverture and selected arias from Mozart&#8217;s Don Giovanni. The ensemble, which was well received by the many young people in the audience, was first set up by four prominent musicians with a view to promoting the tradition of chamber music with an open mind and an innovative approach.<\/div>\n<div>Stefano Parrino\u00a0 (Flute), Francesco Parrino (Violin), Maria Cecilia Berioli (Cello) and Luca Ranieri (Viola) chose to\u00a0name their ensemble after an Italian\u00a0musician and composer,\u00a0Giovanni Battista Viotti (1755-1824), wishing to pay homage to a virtuous violinist and an innovative artist who contributed to the development of European culture.<br \/>All four musicians have worked both in Italy and abroad, alternating their concert\u00a0activity with teaching experiences.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u200bQuartetto Viotti performed last night at the Italian Cultural Institute in Hong Kong.
