Their meeting centred on Serbian prospects for opening accession negotiations with the EU, forms of regional cooperation with the Western Balkans and economic bilateral relations with Belgrade. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cAs duty President of the European Union, Italy vigorously supports the timely opening of Serbian accession negotiations with the EU, not least in light of the reforms implemented by Belgrade, which we encourage, and of its<A name=_GoBack><\/A> framework of relations with other countries of the region\u201d, Della Vedova underscored, who also pointed out the imminent launch of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region, recently approved by the European Council. In that framework \u201cItaly and Serbia collaborate by coordinating on the pilaster of connectivity, infrastructure and energy.
