This year, the Festival dedicated most of its programme to the connection that exists between cooking and gender, investigating the role of women in gastronomy.<\/p>\n<p>Italy was this edition\u2019s guest of honour (\u201cconvidada de honra\u201d) and was the all-around star of the Festival. The Festival paid tribute to our Country, where the culture of Slow Food was born and developed, becoming a global point of reference, through the screening of three feature films: \u201cSlow Food Story\u201d, \u201cLorello e Brunello\u201d and \u201cCucin\u00ec\u201d. \u201cSlow Food Story\u201d retraces the story of the life of Carlo Petrini and of the movement that revolutionised global eating customs, \u201cCucin\u00ed\u201d is a journey through the tastes of the Italian and Neapolitan culinary traditions and \u201cLorello e Brunello\u201d is a reflection on how difficult it can be to follow \u201ctraditions\u201d and on a \u201cSlow\u201d approach to daily production decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The screenings were followed by a tasting of focaccia and of a selection of Italian wines, to create a Mediterranean climate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"From 13 to 16 September, Piren\u00f3polis (State of Goias, Brazil) staged the \u201c9th\u00a0Slow Filme Festival \u2013 Festival Internacional de Cinema, Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e Cultura Local\u201d, a festival that combines gastronomy and cinema in the name of sustainability and of the respect for cultural diversity.
