The Lanterna di Fuksas in Rome will host an event today encompassing music, literature, fashion and haute cuisine, entitled\u00a0“Italy. A Country for Travellers – A Journey through Italian Culture, Style and Food”.\u00a0International tour operators, the foreign press and diplomatic corps\u00a0members will receive an overview of\u00a0the initiatives rolled out by\u00a0the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation\u00a0to strengthen Italy\u2019s image as a ‘Country for Travelers’.\u00a0\u00a0Fashion, haute cuisine, design, great brands, art and culture are an extraordinary part of Italy\u2019s heritage attracting tourists from all over the world.\u00a0 Tour operators, the specialised press and the most important bloggers and influencers of the sector will learn about what the country can offer, especially in terms of itineraries in small and medium-sized art cities, villages and naturalist tours. The initiatives that will be presented have been carried out through the diplomatic and consular network in Canada, United States, Japan, India, People’s Republic of China, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico. They have been implemented\u00a0\u00a0thanks to the resources allocated in the Memorandum of Understanding for enhancing Italy\u2019s image abroad, signed by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
The evening will also include a preview of the film “L’Italia nel piatto” with Italian chef Carlo Cracco, and a catwalk presenting Alitalia\u2019s historical staff uniforms.<\/p>\n
The event will be introduced by RAI journalist Giuliana Palmiotta.
