The Italian Ambassador in Moscow, Cesare Maria Ragaglini, yesterday morning gave the Director of the\u00a0\u201cDmitry Rogachev\u201d Medical Research Centre in Moscow a check for more than 14 million roubles. It amounts to the proceeds from the biggest charity event by a diplomatic mission in the Russian capital in favour of the Country\u2019s most advanced research centre in the field of paediatric haematology, oncology and immunology.<\/p>\n
The 207,000 euro check amounts to the proceeds of the Bazar that was held last Saturday and Sunday in the Embassy\u2019s gardens: a Christmas market selling Made-in-Italy fashion, food and design products to the almost 4,000 visitors. The staff of the Embassy, of ICE-Agency, of the Italian Cultural Institute and of the Italo Calvino school volunteered to organise the event over several months.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a public diplomacy initiative and the Italian Embassy is the only one in Moscow that has organised something of this sort, of this level and with these volumes,\u201d said Ambassador Ragaglini.
