The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Lapo Pistelli, co-chaired an EU-Angola ministerial this morning in Brussels. The meeting took place in the framework of the \u201cJoint Way Forward\u201d dialogue process to intensify the bilateral political, economic and social partnership. <\/P>

\u201cThe European Union and Italy view Angola\u2019s economic progress and its growing role in the regional balance of southern Africa with great satisfaction\u201d, declared Deputy Minister Pistelli in the margins of the meeting. <\/P>

Angola\u2019s Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Planning, Trade, and Science and Technology attended the meeting, accompanied by a team of high-profile experts to examine the numerous topics on the agenda. <\/P>
\n
This high-level meeting in Brussels reaffirmed the shared commitment to an enhanced political dialogue between Angola and the European Union in the peace and security, human rights, democracy and governance sectors. Other topics for discussion were how best to manage migration, and important sectors for cooperation such as energy, research and technology. <\/P>
