Today, Vice Minister Marina\u00a0Sereni\u00a0participated in a video message at Expo Yeelba, a festival dedicated to promoting\u00a0Burkina\u00a0Faso’s cotton-textile chain. In the presence of some 250 participants, including the Burkinab\u00e9 Foreign Minister, Alpha Barry, the Italian Ambassador, Andrea Romussi, and the EU Special Representative for the Sahel, Emanuela\u00a0Del\u00a0Re, the event made it possible to promote\u00a0Faso\u00a0Danfani (a traditional cotton product of excellence) in Italy and worldwide, to encourage professional and industrial contacts between the\u00a0Burkina\u00a0Faso\u00a0and Italian textile sectors, and to share skills, technologies and innovations in the local textile sector.<\/p>\n
Italy is a privileged partner of\u00a0Burkina\u00a0Faso. Ouagadougou aspires to establish a partnership with Rome to draw on Italian experience to develop possible channels for marketing traditional cotton products globally through contacts with Italian players.<\/p>\n
“Expo Yeelba,” the Vice Minister said, \u00a0“is not just business. It is a successful cooperation between institutions, civil society, young people and women on the African continent. The enhancement of cotton production in\u00a0Burkina\u00a0Faso\u00a0is a fundamental step towards sustainable and inclusive development.
