The Farnesina at the service of Italy\u2019s growth worldwide \u2013 that was the topic for discussion at a meeting called by Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini and Secretary General Michele Valensise. Participants included diplomatic advisers from the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister\u2019s Office, various ministries and state-owned companies. Also present were around 30 officers who, along with our diplomatic network abroad, perform the important task of promoting Italy\u2019s political and economic interests throughout the world. <\/P>

\u201cThe growing \u2018demand for Italy\u2019 abroad can be clearly seen in today\u2019s international context. And the \u2018country system\u2019 must provide a unified response to that demand\u201d, underscored Minister Mogherini. \u201cThe international challenges Italy is facing require a common commitment to ensure that the government acts in the consistent manner required. And that consistency can only be provided through liaison and coordination by the Farnesina, including through our network of diplomatic advisers\u201d, she explained. <\/A><\/P> Two important events were also discussed at the meeting: the Italian Presidency of the European Union and EXPO 2015. \u201cOur diplomatic advisers can provide a decisive input to the preparation of both these events to give them a strong political dimension\u201d, as Valensise underscored. \u201cEspecially as regards our Eastern and Mediterranean neighbours and the Balkans, for the EU Presidency, and for institutional visits to Italy by representatives of the 140 countries who, to date, have confirmed that they\u2019ll be taking part in EXPO 2015\u201d. <\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Farnesina at the service of Italy\u2019s growth worldwide \u2013 that was the topic for discussion at a meeting called by Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini and Secretary General Michele Valensise.
