The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Marina Sereni, co-chaired with Deputy Foreign Minister Adriana Bola\u00f1os Argueda, the first session of the Italy-Costa Rica Political Dialogue Mechanism in San Jos\u00e9 today.<\/p>\n
The session \u2013 which was preceded yesterday by a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Sereni and Deputy Foreign Minister Christian Guillermet-Fernandez \u2013 took place in an atmosphere of great cordiality, thus confirming the excellent relationship between Rome and San Jos\u00e9.<\/p>\n
The session addressed the numerous bilateral, regional and global issues on the meeting\u2019s agenda. A special focus was placed on economic and business cooperation and on the possibility of enhancing it, also with a view to favouring a sustainable and inclusive post-pandemic recovery.<\/p>\n
Both Countries jointly expressed the wish to promptly complete the ratification process of the EU-Central America Association Agreement which, once it comes into force, will unfold further dialogue and cooperation opportunities between European and Central American Countries.<\/p>\n
Deputy Foreign Ministers Sereni and Bola\u00f1os Argueda also focused special attention on the issues relative to cooperation in the Central American and Caribbean region, and the challenges raised by the battle against climate change and the relative need of financial resources to fund the necessary actions.
