{"id":71171,"date":"2022-01-28T14:44:50","date_gmt":"2022-01-28T13:44:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2022\/01\/giorno-memoria-un-concerto-allambasciata-a-berlino\/"},"modified":"2022-01-31T11:23:41","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T10:23:41","slug":"giorno-memoria-un-concerto-allambasciata-a-berlino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/retediplomatica\/2022\/01\/giorno-memoria-un-concerto-allambasciata-a-berlino\/","title":{"rendered":"Remembrance Day: the Embassy in Berlin hosts a concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To celebrate Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022, the Italian Embassy in Berlin hosted the \u201cAll\u2019Ombra delle tue ali\u201d concert, an event co-organised with Maestro Francesco Lotoro, the founder of the Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionaria (ILMC &#8211; Institute of Concentrationary <em>Musical<\/em> Literature).<\/p>\n<p>Italian Ambassador Armando Varricchio, emphasised that \u201cmusic carries out a very important role for social memory\u201d and specified that with this initiative \u201can effort was made to especially bear witness to how the barbarity planned 80 years ago actually missed its target: we have hosted the fruit of the creativity of the same people and of the same culture that they intended to eliminate, thus making them live anew and, in fact, assuring them life eternal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Varricchio also joined the #WeRemember campaign promoted by the World Jewish Congress and sponsored by UNESCO to remember the Holocaust and to support the struggle against antisemitism and racism. \u201cMemory is a civil, energetic and compelling sentiment: an authentic passion,\u201d the Ambassador added.<\/p>\n<p>The concert at the Italian Embassy was attended by Felix Klein, the Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany, representatives of the Bundestag, and by Sibylle Sorg, German Federal Foreign Office Director-General for Relations with European Union Member States.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"To celebrate Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022, the Italian Embassy in Berlin hosted the \u201cAll\u2019Ombra delle tue ali\u201d concert, an event co-organised with Maestro Francesco Lotoro, the founder of the Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionaria (ILMC &#8211; Institute of Concentrationary Musical Literature).
