The Bratislava Italian Cultural Institute has planned a series of cultural events in March to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini.<\/p>\n
It kicks off today, 3 March, at the Kino Lumi\u00e8re in Bratislava, with inauguration of the \u201cMamma Roma\u201d photography exhibition which will run until 31 March, showing the photos shot by Divo Cavicchioli and Angelo Novi during filming of \u201cMamma Roma\u201d (1962) starring Anna Magnani and directed by Pasolini himself. The event will be held in association with the Centro Cinema of Cesena.<\/p>\n
In addition to the \u201cMamma Roma\u201d film screening at the Kino Lumi\u00e8re today, the \u201cPasolini 100\u201d filmfest will open, held in association with the National Film Archive of Slovakia. It will show four films that have been recently digitalised and restored: \u201cAccattone\u201d (1961) on 10 March, \u201cThe Gospel According to St. Matthew\u201d (1964) on 24 March and \u201cTheorem\u201d (1968) on 31 March.<\/p>\n
\u201cMamma Roma\u201d will also be shown by RTVS – the Slovakian state television – to pay homage to the great Italian intellectual.
