The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, as part of the initiatives for the 6th edition of the Italian Design Day, present the exhibition \u201cWelcome, feeling at work\u2019\u2019, dedicated to the great urban regeneration project of the \u2018\u2019Kengo Kuma and Associates\u2019 studio to revive the former Rizzoli area in Milan. The exhibition also includes organic regeneration projects, by the same studio, specifically thought up for Italy, which are the result of high-level synergy, understanding and collaboration between Italy and Japan.<\/p>\n
Concrete examples aimed at putting to good use the principles of sustainability and the possibility of co-existing with nature through Re-Generation \u2013 a requirement stemming from the lifestyle changes brought about by the pandemic \u2013 will be presented too. This project, which combines the assets of Italy and Japan, aims to help highlight the current trends of Italian architectural design and the path Japanese architecture might follow in the future. Before founding \u2018Kengo Kuma and Associates\u2019 in 1990, Kuma Kengo obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Architecture from the University of Tokyo, where he is currently teaches and is Professor Emeritus. His studio has designed architectural works in over 30 countries and he has been awarded many prestigious prizes.
