Their discussions included the European Union\u2019s external relations, European Neighbourhood Policy \u2013 with a particular focus on Mediterranean priorities \u2013 enlargement to the Western Balkans and Turkey, and the EU\u2019s Security and Defence Policy, ahead of a December European Council dedicated to the topic of European defence.
