The exhibition \u201c100 Years of Magistretti\u201d consists of sketches, drawings, plans and photos documenting the intensive work of architect and city planner Vico Magistretti. It was organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis, as part of the initiatives marking Italian Design Day 2022.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is introduced by a video-presentation by Margherita Pellino, from the Vico Magistretti Foundation. It covers the architect\u2019s 60-year career, encompassing his best known projects and those less familiar, the architecture of Milan and elsewhere, and objects that have entered thousands of homes in Italy and throughout the world. Magistretti\u2019s two indissolubly linked \u201cpassions\u201d \u2013 architecture and design \u2013 are highlighted in this show, with sketches and catalogues featuring products that have become icons of Italian design.<\/p>\n
In the margins of the exhibition the Cultural Institute also presented a new video of an interview with Khaled Ben Romdhane, a Tunisian architect. He is the owner of KBR, Tunisia\u2019s most important importer of Italian design brands, which provided a number of iconic interior design objects for the event. Italian Design Day was opened this year by Ambassador Lorenzo Fanara, who underscored the value of the \u201cMade in Italy\u201d brand as a powerful country promotion tool.
