Role of Science, Technology &amp; Diplomacy in pandemic response and preparedness\u201d. The workshop was co-organized with the Science Diplomats Club in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday we celebrate Italian scientific research but, above all, we celebrate science and its centrality in tackling the global challenges of humanity, as was shown by the last Covid-19 pandemic,\u201d said Ambassador Zappia in her opening statement, recalling that \u201cthe pandemic is not over: no one is safe until everyone is safe; this is why we need a global approach focused on the search for new vaccines and an equitable global distribution of vaccines and treatments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The workshop launched the recently established new Chapter ISSNAF (Italian Scientists &amp; Scholars in North America Foundation) of Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV).
