Italy\u2019s Ambassador in New Delhi, Vincenzo De Luca, has inaugurated the photographic exhibition dedicated to Gabriele Basilico. The exhibition, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of New Delhi, consists of a selection of 61 photographs taken by the great Italian photographer between 1978 and 2012.<\/p>\n
The first selected works date back to 1978, when Gabriele Basilico began working on a project that would mark a transition, following which he would never look back: \u201cMilan, Potraits of Factories”, which somehow cataloged Milan\u2019s industrial reality at the time. It was an extremely important step for him, since he basically quit the photojournalistic vision and turned to urban landscape and architecture. Within his vast body of work focusing on the transformation of urbanised territories in the transition from the industrial to the post-industrial era, the theme of the city \u2013 intended as a complex and refined product of economy and history \u2013 plays a key role.
