Floriade is the international horticulture exhibition.<br \/>\nThe activities organised for the event, entitled \u201cItaly and flowers: from ancient Rome to the exploration of space\u201d, were inspired by the \u201ccontinuity and innovation\u201d theme that characterises the Italian Embassy\u2019s approach to public diplomacy in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nThey traced a pathway that started from the importance of flowers in Ancient Romeand continued through the Middle Ages and on to an original approach to the Divine Comedy.
