The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, visited Ukraine today, the day after the anniversary of the country\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n
In the capital, Kiev, Minister Di Maio had meetings with the President of the Republic, Volodymyr Zelensky; the Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba; and the Minister for Internal Affairs and co-Chair of the Italy-Ukraine Committee for Economic, Industrial and Financial Cooperation, Denis Monastyrsky.<\/p>\n
Minister Di Maio reiterated Italy\u2019s strong support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence and freedom of Ukraine to his interlocutors. He also underscored our country\u2019s firm support for Ukraine\u2019s pathway towards Europe and its future reconstruction. The aid and assistance that our country has provided since the start of the conflict form the political, financial and humanitarian perspectives were also mentioned. So too was the shelter Italy has provided to Ukrainian refugees.<\/p>\n
While in Ukraine, Minister Di Maio also visited Irpin, a city tragically hit by the Russian aggression and which has come to be a symbol of Ukraine\u2019s resistance.
