Their meeting centred on European themes such as the neighbourhood policy, enlargement and the fiscal compact, as well as the defence of freedom of worship and development of economic opportunities for Italian firms in Poland.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>In the context of the EU the two ministers shared hopes for a positive outcome to the summit under way in Brussels, underscoring the importance of reaching as broad a consensus as possible and that a Community approach prevail.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Terzxi and Sikorski confirmed their respective nations\u2019 pledge to keep the international community\u2019s attention and commitment trained on freedom of worship and the defence of human rights and, in particular on every form of discrimination and violence.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Terzi recalled Poland\u2019s strategic importance for our investments. \u201cItaly\u201d, the minister maintained, \u201cis Poland\u2019s third largest commercial partner, with combined trade figures in 2011 of over \u20ac14 billion and with over 800 small and midsized Italian firms operating there\u201d.<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi met this morning at the foreign ministry in Rome with his Polish colleague Radoslaw Sikorski.
