{"id":898,"date":"2021-05-28T17:10:12","date_gmt":"2021-05-28T15:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2021\/05\/nota-farnesina-missione-in-sudan-del-direttore-generale-per-gli-italiani-all-estero-2\/"},"modified":"2021-05-28T17:10:12","modified_gmt":"2021-05-28T15:10:12","slug":"nota-farnesina-missione-in-sudan-del-direttore-generale-per-gli-italiani-all-estero","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2021\/05\/nota-farnesina-missione-in-sudan-del-direttore-generale-per-gli-italiani-all-estero\/","title":{"rendered":"FOREIGN MINISTRY NOTE \u2013 The Director General for Italians Abroad travels to Sudan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p>The Foreign Ministry and the Italian Embassy in Khartoum continue to follow, with the utmost attention, the case of the Italian national Marco Zennaro arrested in Sudan in connection with a commercial dispute.<\/p>\n<p>In view of the contacts already underway at all levels, the Director General for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Vignali, will travel to Sudan on Monday 31 May, on a two-day mission to Khartoum on the instructions of Minister di Maio, for further talks.<\/p>\n<p>The Director General will meet representatives of the local authorities, carry out a further consular visit to the detained Italian citizen and meet with his family and his lawyer in Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the mission is to sensitise the competent Sudanese authorities on the need for a rapid definition of the Italian citizen&#8217;s position and also to request their cooperation in improving the conditions of his detention, while waiting for a hopefully rapid conclusion of the case.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Foreign Ministry and the Italian Embassy in Khartoum continue to follow, with the utmost attention, the case of the Italian national Marco Zennaro arrested in Sudan in connection with a commercial dispute.
