The aim is to promote this Olympic discipline in the Country in the perspective of creating the world\u2019s first \u201cWimbledon of Fencing\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The signing of the Agreement \u2013 at the attendance of Italian Ambassador Mario Vattani \u2013 was hosted in the important venue of Singapore\u2019s Grand Prix Satellite at the OCBC Arena.\u00a0The parties were represented by Francesco Rossi, CEO of the FPA Group, and David C.Y. Chen, Secretary General of Singapore Fencing. Present at the event was also the Speaker of the Singapore Parliament, Chuan-Jin Tan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are very happy that Italy, through the initiative launched by a prestigious enterprise like Carmimari, is Singapore\u2019s partner in contributing to engage so many of the City-State\u2019s youths in the sport of fencing. On this occasion \u2013 Ambassador Vattani said \u2013 we see the opportunity of developing similar programmes with other Countries in the area, in line with our development partnership with the ASEAN, which envisages cooperating on health-related issues, including mental health\u201d. According to Ambassador Vattani, \u201cafter the pandemic-induced restrictions, fencing now represents an excellent educational tool to forge personalities and character and to develop freedom of expression, and a testbench for our capacities, both physical and mental.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The partnership arises from the aim of creating a synergy between the two aspects. In a long-term perspective, the aim is to establish a fully-fledged \u201cWimbledon of Fencing\u201d to support the promotion of the Olympic discipline \u2013 traditionally a hotbed for Italian fencers \u2013 throughout Asia.
