This is an itinerant programme to support the promotion of Italy\u2019s image in the world through fencing, as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and the Italian Fencing Federation.<\/p>\n<p>The event is scheduled for 7 December when the initiative entitled \u201cThe beauty of Made in Italy in one gesture. From Tokyo to Milan in the name of sports\u201d will be held at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo. The event will be opened by the Italian Ambassador to Japan, Gianluigi Benedetti, and will be attended by the reigning World Champion Italian Men&#8217;s Fencing National Team, with speeches by the President of the Milan 2023 Organizing Committee, Marco Fichera, Technical Commissioner Stefano Cerioni, a representative of the Japanese Sports Agency (MEXT) and the Japanese Fencing Federation chaired by Chida Kenichi.<\/p>\n<p>This will also be an opportunity to discuss \u201cMade in Italy\u201d in sports in Japan, in a panel moderated by the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo (ICCJ), Davide Fantoni, which will involve companies, bodies and institutions of Sistema Italia in Tokyo and sports representatives in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>The event, organized the day before the men&#8217;s fencing World Cup trials, scheduled to take place on the Japanese springboards the following weekend, will focus on the upcoming Milan 2023 World Fencing Championships. This will mark a symbolic and significant handover from the city that was \u201chome\u201d to the last edition of the Summer Olympic Games &#8211; in the summer of 2021 &#8211; to the city that will bring the World Fencing Championships back to Italy, from 22 to 30 July 2023, after 12 years (the last time was in Catania in 2011).
