PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 December 2022\u00a0<\/strong>the Farnesina will once again be hosting the Conference of Italian Ambassadors in the World. This year\u2019s topic will be \u201cItalian diplomacy in the service of the country in a changing world\u201d. The event will bring together over 100 heads of Italian diplomatic missions throughout the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Conference will provide an opportunity to discuss the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and its diplomatic-consular network, and the tools available to them, in supporting Italy in promoting our national interests in the world, in line with Euro-Atlantic principles and values.<\/p>\n

The proceedings will take place behind closed doors.\u00a0Some sessions, however, will be open to media participation\u00a0<\/strong>(photographers and camera operators in the International Conference Room; journalists in the Aldo Moro Room with audio-video links). They will also be\u00a0streamed<\/strong>\u00a0on the Farnesina\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 21 December:<\/strong><\/p>\n

10.00\u201310.45<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Opening Session with addresses by the President of the Republic,\u00a0<\/strong>Sergio Mattarella<\/strong>, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0<\/strong>Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, and the Secretary-General of the Farnesina, Ambassador\u00a0<\/strong>Ettore Francesco Sequi<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

11:20\u201311:50 \u2013 Keynote speech by the President of the European Parliament, the Hon. Roberta Metsola.<\/strong><\/p>\n

12:30\u201313:30 \u2013 Session on \u201cItalian foreign policy goals\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Addresses by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0Antonio Tajani,<\/strong>\u00a0and the Chairs of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Chamber of Deputies, the Hon.\u00a0Giulio Tremonti<\/strong>, and of the Senate, Senator\u00a0Stefania Craxi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thursday 22 December:<\/strong><\/p>\n

09:00\u201310:30 \u2013 Session on \u201cInnovative instruments for economic diplomacy and growth\u201d<\/strong>, with addresses by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0<\/strong>Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, the Minister for Economy and Finance,\u00a0<\/strong>Giancarlo Giorgetti<\/strong>, and the Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy,\u00a0<\/strong>Adolfo Urso<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

10:50\u201313:30 \u2013 Session on \u201cItaly\u2019s global appeal\u201d<\/strong>, with addresses by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0<\/strong>Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, the Minister for Education and Merit,\u00a0<\/strong>Giuseppe Valditara<\/strong>, the Minister for University and Research,\u00a0<\/strong>Anna Maria Bernini<\/strong>, and the Minister for Culture,\u00a0<\/strong>Gennaro Sangiuliano<\/strong>. The session will end with a short award ceremony for the \u201cMama Sofia\u201d scholarships set up in memory of Ambassador Luca Attanasio.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Journalists, photographers and camera crews interested in following the sessions open to the media should apply for accreditation no later than 17:00 of Tuesday 20 December, by email to\u00a0accreditamentostampa@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0(tel. 06\/3691-3432-8573-3078). They should attach: an identity document, a letter from their media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media organisations, a Note Verbale by the Rome-based Embassy of the country of the media organisation they represent.<\/p>\n

For applications to set up satellite positions, the registration numbers and make and model of the vehicles should be submitted by email to\u00a0accreditamentostampa@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0no later than Monday\u00a019 December\u00a02022<\/u>.<\/p>\n

For the Conference, the police authorities have put in place measures to restrict vehicle traffic and the use of parking spaces in the vicinity of the Farnesina. In particular, parking on Via Macchia della Farnesina is prohibited.<\/p>\n
