On Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 March 2023, the Conferenza delle Addette e degli Addetti Scientifici 2023<\/em> (2023 Conference of Science and Space Experts) <\/strong>entitled \u201cLa diplomzia scientifica al servizio della crescita dell’Italia\u201d<\/em> (Science Diplomacy for Italy’s Growth) will be held at the University of Padua<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The initiative is aimed at promoting the growing role played by the scientific and technological research sector to increase the competitiveness of Italy, highlighting the Government’s commitment to promoting Italian innovation in the world, also in support of Italian companies.<\/p>\n

The event will also be live streamed on the YouTube channel of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.<\/p>\n

Journalists, photographers and cameramen will be able to attend in person.<\/p>\n

Monday 6 March <\/u><\/strong>at Palazzo Bo, in the Aula Magna of the University<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conference programme:<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon:<\/strong> the event \u201cScienza e innovazione: non \u00e8 una questione di genere\u201d <\/em>(Science and innovation: it is not a gender issue), a round table on the role of women in science, opened by the Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giorgio Silli<\/strong>, and moderated by the journalist of the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Giovanni Caprara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speeches by Amalia Ercoli Finzi<\/strong>, an aerospace engineer; Antonella Viola<\/strong>, Unipod professor of immunology and science populariser; Chiara Montanari<\/strong>, the first Italian expedition leader in Antarctica; Cinzia Zuffada<\/strong>, President of the Italian Scientists and Scholars of North America Foundation (ISSNAF) will follow the event;<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at 12 noon: <\/strong>Ceremony for the awarding of the \u201cScience, She Says!\u201d<\/em> prize to five female researchers ‘under 40’ from as many areas of the world;<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0 \u00a0 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: <\/strong>institutional greetings, introduced by the Director General for Promotion of the Italian Economic System, Lorenzo Angeloni<\/strong>, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso<\/strong>, the Rector of the University of Padua, Daniela Mapelli<\/strong>, and Astronaut Luca Parmitano<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, Minister Tajani<\/strong> will award the \u201cPremio Farnesina\u201d<\/em> and the \u201cL’innovazione che parla italiana\u201d <\/em>prizes;<\/p>\n
