On Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 March 2023, the 2023 Conference of Science and Space Experts <\/strong>entitled\u00a0\u201cLa diplomzia scientifica al servizio della crescita dell\u2019Italia\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(Science Diplomacy for Italy\u2019s Growth) will be held at the University of Padua<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The initiative is aimed at promoting the growing role played by the scientific and technological research sector to increase the competitiveness of Italy, highlighting the Government\u2019s commitment to promoting Italian innovation in the world, also in support of Italian companies.<\/p>\n

The event will also be live streamed on the YouTube channel of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.<\/p>\n

Journalists, photographers and cameramen will be able to attend in person.<\/p>\n

Monday 6 March at Palazzo Bo, in the Aula Magna of the University<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conference programme:<\/p>\n

\u2013 from 10.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.:<\/strong>\u00a0the event\u00a0\u201cScienza e innovazione: non \u00e8 una questione di genere\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(Science and innovation: it is not a gender issue), a round-table discussion on the role of women in science, opened by the Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giorgio Silli<\/strong>, and moderated by the journalist of the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera<\/em>, Giovanni Caprara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speeches by Amalia Ercoli Finzi<\/strong>, an aerospace engineer; Antonella Viola<\/strong>, Unipod Professor of immunology and science populariser; Chiara Montanari<\/strong>, the first Italian expedition leader in Antarctica;Cinzia Zuffada<\/strong>, President of the Italian Scientists and Scholars of North America Foundation (ISSNAF), will follow the event;<\/p>\n

\u2013at 12 p.m.: <\/strong>Ceremony for awarding the\u00a0\u201cScience, She Says!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0prize to five female researchers \u2018under 40\u2019 from as many areas of the world;<\/p>\n

\u2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: <\/strong>institutional greetings, introduced by the Director General for Promotion of the Italian Economic System, Lorenzo Angeloni<\/strong>, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso<\/strong>, the Rector of the University of Padua,\u00a0Daniela Mapelli<\/strong>, and Astronaut Luca Parmitano <\/strong>(by video-message);<\/p>\n

Then Minister Tajani<\/strong>\u00a0will award the\u00a0\u201cPremio Farnesina\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and the prixe \u201cL\u2019innovazione che parla italiana\u201d<\/em>;<\/p>\n
