The Conferenza delle Addette e degli Addetti Scientifici 2023 (2023 Conference of Science and Space Experts) entitled \u201cLa diplomazia scientifica al servizio della crescita dell’Italia\u201d<\/strong> (Science Diplomacy for Italy’s Growth) kicks off today at the University of Padua.<\/p>\n

The initiative is aimed at promoting the growing role of the scientific and technological research sector for the competitiveness of the Country Economic System, enhancing the Government’s efforts in promoting Italian innovation in the world, also in support of our businesses.<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, will take part in the institutional greetings.<\/p>\n

Monday 6 March at Palazzo Bo, in the Aula Magna of the University<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2013 from 10.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0the event\u00a0\u201cScienza e innovazione: non \u00e8 una questione di genere\u201d\u00a0<\/i>(Science and innovation: it is not a gender issue), a round-table discussion on the role of women in science, opened by the Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0Giorgio Silli<\/b>, and moderated by the journalist of the Italian newspaper\u00a0Corriere della Sera<\/i>,\u00a0Giovanni Caprara<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speeches by\u00a0Amalia Ercoli Finzi<\/b>, an aerospace engineer;\u00a0Antonella Viola<\/b>, Unipod Professor of immunology and science populariser;\u00a0Chiara Montanari<\/b>, the first Italian expedition leader in Antarctica;Cinzia Zuffada<\/b>, President of the Italian Scientists and Scholars of North America Foundation (ISSNAF), will follow the event;<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013at 12 p.m.:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Ceremony for awarding the\u00a0\u201cScience, She Says!\u201d<\/i>\u00a0prize to five female researchers \u2018under 40\u2019 from as many areas of the world;<\/span><\/p>\n
