On 16 March, the state-recognised private school Scuola Italiana Eugenio Montale in S\u00e3o<\/strong> Paulo, Brazil,<\/strong> hosted the event inaugurating the school year for Italian schools<\/strong> active in the southern hemisphere<\/strong>. The event opened with greetings<\/strong> from Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani<\/strong>, who emphasised that, thanks to such exchange initiatives, \u201cwe will be able to contribute together to the work launched by the Government, at my instigation, with an inter-ministerial round table coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs <\/strong>to improve and strengthen the Italian Training System in the World<\/strong> and its attractiveness to young<\/strong> international talents<\/strong>. The southern hemisphere<\/strong> has important historical relations with Italy, which we want to enhance in order to ensure that the Italian Training System in the World can further develop on the basis of a genuine sense of belonging to the community built around the values of the Italian Republic<\/strong>. I would like to thank the Eugenio Montale School in Sao Paulo, which by hosting today’s celebration becomes an ambassador of the Italian<\/strong> school<\/strong> and<\/strong> education model in the world<\/strong>. This model is known and appreciated internationally for its democratic approach<\/strong>, inspired by the principles of the Italian Constitution, for the quality<\/strong> of its teaching methods and the excellence of its integration<\/strong> processes\u201d.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by the Deputy Director General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alessandro De Pedys, and the Consul General of Italy in S\u00e3o Paulo, Domenico Fornara, as well as the Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, together with the President and the Didactic Coordinator of Scuola Italiana Eugenio Montale. For the occasion, the students of the school performed an interpretation of the Canticle of the Creatures<\/em> and shared, together with their families, their experiences.<\/p>\n

The Italian Training System in the World<\/a> (video<\/a>) is a global network of educational institutions<\/strong> managed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which includes 52<\/strong> Italian schools<\/strong>, both public and private, 92<\/strong> Italian departments<\/strong> in foreign schools, 130<\/strong> Italian language practice courses<\/strong> in foreign universities, and over 10,000<\/strong> Italian language and culture courses<\/strong>. The System promotes the Italian<\/strong> language<\/strong>, culture<\/strong> and educational model<\/strong> throughout the world, according to programmes that take into account the needs of the cultural, social and economic context of local realities. The Scuola Italiana Eugenio Montale in S\u00e3o Paulo is one of 45 Italian partner schools worldwide<\/strong>. A total of 15 Italian schools abroad follow the Southern school calendar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
