The exhibition \u201cLa Grande Visione Italiana. Collezione Farnesina\u201d (\u201cThe Great Italian Vision \u2013 Farnesina Collection\u201d), organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has landed in Tokyo after Singapore. The exhibition \u2013 a journey through the history of Italian art from the 20th century to present day \u2013 consists of over sixty works by great artists: from Carla Accardi to Fortunato Depero, from Mimmo Jodice to Michelangelo Pistoletto.<\/p>\n
The works will be on display until 7 May at the Gallery of the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo. They are a selection from the Farnesina Collection, the contemporary art collection housed in the building of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome. Presenting the works in the exhibition will be a lecture, scheduled for 31 March, by Kanai Tadashi, Professor at Shinshu University’s Faculty of Literature and Philosophy.<\/p>\n
Former curator for the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art and visiting professor at C\u00e0 Foscari University of Venice in the 2017-18 academic year, Kanai Tadashi will present the works on display, placing them in the context of the history of Italian art after Futurism. From Tokyo, \u201cLa Grande Visione Italiana. Collezione Farnesina\u201d will move to New Delhi and finally to Seoul, opening a dialogue aimed at promoting the best of the Italian art scene between Embassies, Italian Cultural Institutes and important local museums.<\/p>\n
