The meeting will be chaired by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, <strong>Antonio Tajani,<\/strong> and will be attended by the EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, <strong>Oliver Varhelyi<\/strong>, the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs <strong>Tobias Billstr\u00f6m<\/strong>, in his role as President-in-Office of the Council of the European Union, and the Foreign Ministers of <strong>Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro<\/strong> and <strong>Serbia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is in line with Italy&#8217;s renewed role as a leading player in the Western Balkans and aims to foster dialogue and regional cooperation, as well as to relaunch the European integration process of the countries in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The first part of the event will take place at Villa Madama and will be divided into two sub-sections:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cEuropean integration process of Western Balkans: the way forward\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cEU-Western Balkans: enhancing together our cooperation\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the afternoon, the proceedings will continue at the Farnesina with the Conference <strong>\u201cNew vision for the Western Balkans: EU accession and regional security\u201d<\/strong> organised by Istituto Affari Internazionali and Osservatorio Balcani, Caucaso e Transeuropa. Concurrently, two expert round tables on climate change and cultural heritage conservation and on technological innovation in the agri-food sector will be held.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The entire event will not be open to the press and no live streaming will be provided.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the first part of the event, <strong>at approximately 2:20 p.m.<\/strong>, Deputy Prime Minister Tajani will hold a <u>press point at the Farnesina, in the Aldo Moro Room<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the press point may apply for accreditation by sending their request <strong>by no later than Saturday 1 April<\/strong> to the following e-mail address <a href=\"mailto:accreditamentostampa@esteri.it\">accreditamentostampa@esteri.it<\/a> (tel. 06 3691 3432 \u20133078, 8210 or 8573), attaching the following:<\/p>\n<p>For representatives of the Italian press:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>copy of an identity document<\/li>\n<li>letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or &#8211; in the absence of the latter &#8211; copy of professional identity card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For representatives of foreign press organisations, <strong>not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>copy of an identity document;<\/li>\n<li>letter from the newspaper of affiliation;<\/li>\n<li>Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented (only if not previously sent).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Foreign press representatives <strong>already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs <\/strong>should send a request for accreditation with a copy of an identity document attached.<\/p>\n<p>Accredited Press may enter the Farnesina from the main entrance, left side, <strong>on 3 April from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016\/679) by the <strong>Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/strong>, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and\/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE Ministerial Meeting on the Western Balkans Rome &#8211; 3 April 2023 &nbsp; On Monday 3 April 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the Ministerial Meeting on the Western Balkans will take place in Rome.
