This morning at the Farnesina, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, to discuss the main areas of bilateral cooperation and Kosovo\u2019s European prospects.<\/p>\n
The meeting is part of the new, more structured and long-term foreign policy strategy that the Italian government is implementing in the Western Balkans, in line with Italy’s long-standing commitment towards achieving the stability, security and integration of all six countries of the region within the European Union.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince its establishment, this Government has relaunched Italy’s political commitment and presence in the Western Balkans, as demonstrated by my first visit to Pristina and Belgrade with Minister Crosetto on 22 November\u201d, commented Minister Tajani, adding that \u201cthe National Conference that I organised in Trieste last January paved the way for the government’s renewed commitment to a region that is not only strategic for Italy, but is also a natural bridge towards Central and Eastern Europe\u201d.<\/p>\n
Tajani remarked that \u201canother fundamental step was the Ministerial Conference that I hosted in Rome on 3 April with my colleagues from the six countries of the Western Balkans.
