In occasione dell\u2019International NASH Day, Giornata internazionale di sensibilizzazione sulla steatoepatite non alcolica, l\u2019Ambasciata d\u2019Italia a Washington ha ospitato il 14 giugno 2022 un incontro dal titolo \u201cFrom Progress in the Control of Viral Hepatitis to the Rising Epidemic of NASH\u201d. L\u2019evento, organizzato insieme al Global Liver Institute, ha offerto l\u2019opportunit\u00e0 di discutere delle pi\u00f9 recenti evoluzioni nelle malattie del fegato e sul ruolo della scienza e della ricerca nell\u2019affrontare queste sfide. Particolare attenzione \u00e8 stata posta alle collaborazioni bilaterali tra ricercatori e istituzioni italiane e statunitensi.<\/p>\n
All\u2019incontro \u00e8 intervenuta l\u2019Ambasciatrice Mariangela Zappia che ha sottolineato la collaborazione esistente in materia tra l\u2019Italia e gli Stati Uniti: \u201cI nostri due Paesi \u2013 ha osservato \u2013 collaborano fianco a fianco ogni giorno in molti settori delle scienze della vita, dalla medicina di precisione all\u2019oncologia, dalle biotecnologie alle applicazioni di robotica e intelligenza artificiale in chirurgia\u201d.<\/p>\n
Fra i partecipanti all\u2019evento, il Premio Nobel 2020 per la Medicina, Harvey J.
