Beniamino Andreatta
  • He was born in Trent on 11 August 1928.
  • He graduated in Law and a university lecturer.
  • He entered the government for the first time in 1979 as Minister for the Budget and Economic Planning in the 1st Cossiga Government, and as Minister without Portfolio with special duties in the 2nd Cossiga Government.
  • The following year, under Prime Minister Forlani, he became Minister for the Treasury, where he remained under the subsequent Spadolini Government.
  • In February 1993, under Prime Minister Amato, he was appointed Minister for the Budget and Economic Planning and in April 1993, under Prime Minister Ciampi, he was appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs until April 1994, when he was appointed to chair the PPI Group in the Chamber of Deputies.
  • From 1996 until 1998 he was Minister for Defence in the Prodi Government.
