Born in Rome on 5 March 1963. Graduated cum laude on 24 March 1988 from La Sapienza University of Rome with a degree in Political Science.
Unpon successfully completing the state competitive examination, entered the foreign service on 15 February 1990. Was posted to Office III of the Diplomatic Protocol service on 15 November 1990, and to the Minister’s Private Staff on 30 October 1991. Posted as Second Secretary to Seoul on 16 September 1992, and was confirmed in the same post with the functions of First Secretary on January 1st 1995. Was named Consul in Athens on 24 October 1966. Returning to Rome, was assigned to Office V of the Directorate General for Personnel on 3 April 2000, and became Second Counsellor on 2 July 2000. Was appointed Head of the Secretariat of the Directorate General for Personnel on 27 August 2001. Became Embassy Counsellor on 2 July 2004. Posted as Counsellor to Ankara on 30 July 2004, and confirmed in the same post as First Counsellor 6 September 2004. Reporting to the Director General for Personnel as of 7 January 2008, became Head of Office II of the Directorate General for Personnel (from 2 February 2008 Head of Office II of the Dir. Gen. for Resources and Innovation – as per DPR 258/2007) on 21 January 2008. Head of Office II of the Directorate General for Resources and Innovation on 16 December 2010 and acting Deputy Directore General/Central Director for Human Resources as of 8 March 2011. Was named Minister Plenipotentiary on 2 January 2011. Named Deputy Director General for Resources and Innovation with the duties of acting Central Director for Human Resources on September 1st 2011. Appointed Director General for Resources and Innovation on 16 June 2015.
Knight Official of the Order of Merit of the Republic in 2006. Military service completed with the Carabinieri Corps. Married, one child.
