Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference

The Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference, organised every two years by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in collaboration with the Italian-Latin American Institute (IILA) has, since its first meeting in 2003, represented a key forum for encounter between Italy and the countries of Latin America. With the 3rd Conference of 2007, this instrument clearly acquired an institutional and inter-governmental nature. Between one edition and the other of the Conferences a path of activities is developed that are supported and realized with the collaboration of IILA and that enhance the value of the local institutions and the Italian civil society involved in the Latin American themes.

The Conferences are an effective and well-established foreign policy instrument in Italy’s relations with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean
