Governo Italiano

According to the principles set forth by the Council of Europe, the European Parliament and the European Council of Ministers, the certification of European languages falls under the European Language Portfolio programme and aims to improve the capabilities of citizens by facilitating their communication, mobility and intercultural relations. In particular, the certification of language skills documents the level of competence in compliance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

To certify the knowledge of Italian as a foreign language a certifying association was created called CLIQ – Italian Language Quality Certification – which unites four certifying bodies: Dante Alighieri Society, University for Foreigners of Perugia, University for Foreigners of Siena and Roma Tre University.

The aim of the association is to promote a quality certifying culture of Italian as L2 and guarantee a high-quality certification of language skills in line with the scientific standards established by the Council of Europe in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
