The Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam has organised an exhibition of Italian posters designed from 1990 onwards. Running until 31 January 2011, the show will open a window onto the cultural and social life of our country.
In the last 20 years designers and graphic design studios such as Mauro Bubbico, Stefano Tonti, Domenico Catapano and Zup Associates have taken centre stage in this field. They have constructed a contemporary, forward-looking visual vocabulary. As key figures in a branch of culture that is rich in tradition and innovation they understand the signs and signal of our era. In their designs they interpret this era – and the traditional visual medium of the poster – through their own vision, a dynamic that is clearly illustrated by the exhibition of Italian posters.
