A group of approximately 60 Italian business representatives made a mission to Morocco led by Deputy Minister for Economic Development Carlo Calenda to strengthen collaboration and explore business opportunities. The farming/food, construction, healthcare and automotive industries were the focus of sector seminars as well as company visits and B2B meetings. An economic forum was held yesterday in Casablanca with the participation of Italian and Moroccan institutional representatives.
Four sectors: farming/food, construction, healthcare and automotive
The Italian ministries of foreign affairs and economic development, along with ICE, Confindustria, ABI and Rete Imprese Italia, promoted this initiative, which concluded today. As the organisers pointed out, Morocco is a politically stable country with a growing economy (2013 GDP +4.4% over 2012) and a low inflation rate. The favourable conditions it offers have wide growth margins, in a context that places Italy 6th among suppliers with exports up 12%.
