Science attachés meet at the Farnesina

Two years on from the last edition, the Farnesina has organised a meeting of science attachés on 13 and 14 October 2015. 125 attachés from around the world will be taking part.

Foreign Minister Gentiloni and Education Minister Stefania Giannini will open the event. The meeting will then split into two panels for leading representatives of the institutions, the research and academic communities, and the business world.

Participants will include the presidents of research bodies, university rectors, senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research and the Ministry for Economic Development, and senior managers from business associations. Ambassador Moruzzi, from the Swiss Confederation’s State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) will attend. Representatives of 8 associations of Italian researchers working in China, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa will also be taking part.

The panels

The first panel will be dedicated to the guidelines for the national research plan and the university internationalisation process. The second will present the most recent developments in business-research linkages in the environmental sustainability and food security sectors, key themes for EXPO Milan 2015, as viewed by the institutions and business associations.
